AI infrastructure company NamuAX said on July 30 it has developed its own server virtualisation platform, namuVIRT.

namuVIRT is a KVM-based infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform that integrates management of compute, storage and network resources in a single console and can operate large-scale virtual machines (VMs).

It provides a migration function that moves virtual machines running in VMware environments to a KVM-based system. It is designed to support switching between different hypervisors, allowing companies to migrate systems while using existing infrastructure assets.

It also supports functions needed for enterprise server virtualisation, including high availability (HA), live migration, GPUs and virtual GPUs (vGPU).

NamuAX plans to link namuVIRT with the GPU optimiser of its cloud-native platform, CocktaiCloud, to enable efficient operation of GPU resources during AI training and inference.

The company explained that demand is rising for server virtualisation transitions, especially among companies and public institutions facing contract renewals after changes to VMware's licensing policy.

With the addition of namuVIRT, NamuAX expanded its AI infrastructure product lineup to include AI agents, platform-as-a-service (PaaS), a cloud management platform (CMP) and digital workspaces.

It plans to step up sales efforts targeting public institutions and small and mid-sized companies and to pursue the server virtualisation and AI infrastructure markets.
